Today, we’re spotlighting the transformative initiative by Active Aging to convert standard toilets into Accessible Changing Rooms (ACRs), championing the cause of accessibility for individuals with diverse needs.

Imagine public restrooms where flexibility meets functionality—where every individual, regardless of their physical abilities, can use facilities safely and comfortably. That’s what ACRs are all about. They feature height-adjustable equipment that caters to wheelchair users and others who require assistance.

But why should we care? Because inclusivity in design reflects our values as a society. It’s about acknowledging that everyone has the right to move through public spaces with ease and dignity—whether they’re aging gracefully or living with disabilities.
